These reproductions fit in upper Bezel of all Pistol
style shifters from 1970 to 1974. All patterns are styled after the
original. There are minor differences from the original, but are not
noticeable. They all have a black background with white letters. Originally
these Shift Patterns were installed with a 2-sided tape. After 30 or
so years of use, this tape has become like epoxy and it is almost impossible
to remove the old shift pattern without breaking. To remove the old
shift pattern you must either drill thru the plastic and pull the shift
pattern out, or crack the old shift pattern and remove the pieces. Installation
of the Shift Pattern is done after the Upper Bezel is installed on the
Pistol Shifter. To install the Shift Pattern, place a small dab of silicone
inside the Upper Bezel at the 6 and 12 position. Let the handle sit
for several hours to allow the silicone to dry.
